FORMATION

Exploring the Integration of Formation.

Begin by reading the text below from the Congregational resources,

then reflect on the sensing questions.

Use the personal sensing for individual reflection and group sensing questions for group dialogue.

As you read the Congregational statements on this element below, consider what this means for you personally and for Good Shepherd..

  • What does this evoke?

  • What is stirring?

  • What is challenging?

  • What is stimulating?

The vitality of the mission is largely determined by the quality of Formation. (Good Shepherd Constitution 55).

Formation deepens our call to mission and strengthens our identity as Good Shepherd.

We ensure that Good Shepherd charism, values and heritage remain at the heart of the mission. ( Zeal calls us to respond, 2019)

Formation is the enabler for an integrated approach for Good Shepherd mission effectiveness. Hence, formation must be inclusive of sisters and lay mission partners.

This calls us to invest resources in holistic formation and capacity development for all involved in the mission. ( 30th Cong. Direction Statement 2015)
