JUSTICE & PEACE

Exploring the Integration of Justice & Peace

Begin by reading the text below from the Congregational resources,

then reflect on the sensing questions.

Use the personal sensing for individual reflection

and group sensing questions for group dialogue.

As you read the Congregational statements on this element below, consider what this means for you personally and for Good Shepherd..

  • What does this evoke?

  • What is stirring?

  • What is challenging?

  • What is stimulating?

Justice and Peace is at the core of Good Shepherd mission. We envision a world where justice and human rights support the dignity of every girl, woman and child. We advocate to change policies that exclude and systems that dehumanize. (GSIJPO Position Paper 2018)

The Congregation identified the priorities of today as trafficking, migration, economic justice, prostitution, girl-child and ecology.

We are all one, all part of the “One Energy Field, the One Creative Source, the One Loving Creator.” (Daniel O’Leary) ‘We now know that we are inseparably involved with one another, fundamentally connected, responsible for everyone and everything. Our thoughts and actions are capable of influencing and determining future outcomes.’ (2019 Supplement to the 2014 Formation Guidelines)

We address injustices against individual, communal and ecological rights and work towards systemic social and ecological change.
