Sensing

Once you have centred yourself using a Preparing activity you are ready to begin Sensing.

Sensing is the “moment we redirect our attention from objects to source.” Our perceptions widen and deepen.

“The boundary between observer and observed opens up.” We begin to see from a perspective that includes ourselves.

The system begins to see itself. (Theory U)

During the Sensing phase you take time to immerse deeply into the issue at hand. Try to go beyond the superficial and literal, seeking out the hidden and unspoken. See the system as a whole and see your place within that system.

Review the 4 Levels of Listening and then begin your Sensing journey by selecting one of the elements in the section below. Start with the element that is relevant and speaks to you at this moment.

Four Levels of Listening

Theory U Resource- Presencing Institute

Often our listening experiences don't go beyond level one "Downloading". As we begin the sensing exercise we are invited to listen deeply with an open mind, an open heart and an open will. Use the four levels of listening as a guide to assist your sensing journey of listening and conversations.

Awareness of our listening is a lifetime work and requires constant attention.
